Jamie Kovac Appreciation Day

I try and use the Monday posts to show that women aren’t getting bulky from lifting and end up looking good. Today is more of an oogle session on Jamie Kovac.

The top rated comment is pretty good in that vid (and is probably Brent).

  1. Not the best that you’ve featured, but still goddamn hot.

I had no idea what I was gonna post, and came across these vids. Threw it all up in a couple minutes so I can work on other shit.

My original post was gonna be “Could be better, but it’ll do.”

  2. that is no 70sBig ass (i hate flat asses), but still impressive strength.

I guarantee she has a 40 inch ass at least. Her hamstrings and back are pretty muscular, so her ass-to-waist and ass-to-hamstrings ratio are not what you normally see. Bigger hamstrings make the ass look smaller. In any case, did you see the third vid? She’d throw you around, brah.

  3. Was the only one hoping NITRO would jump out with the tennis ball gun and start shooting her while she was doing the yoke walk?

It kicks ass that her gym plays metal. Mine sticks to Christina Aguelera and Hanson. I’m a big fan of the posts on this topic. Repitition can help change the zeitgeist. I have yet to meet a weight exercise I don’t like but man, I think I would absolutely hate that yoke chain shit if I ever tried it. Looks even more brutal than farmer walks or heavy prowler sprints.

I just saw this article on some new study indicating a possible correlation between testosterone levels declining in older men and obesity. The story is pretty light so I don’t know how legit it is: http://health.msn.com/health-topics/sexual-health/mens-sexual-health/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100272961&gt1=31028

I just laughed. You seem to have a new article every day — do you even work? You should be my researcher. I used to call Brent the R&D department, but now he’s just Quality Control.

  5. Posts that feature 70s Big women are damn inspiring. I have a 40″ ass, I’m strong as shit, and comments like BigShawn’s pretty much ensure that I’ll never send a picture or video. I doubt I’m the only one. Justin suggested in Monday’s post that women aren’t contributing. Memo to the dudes: if you want to see more hot/strong women, this is not the way. Comments like AC’s are definitely the way.

BigShawn is a friend of mine and posted that because he was feigning irritation because I ignored his advice on what to post today. I’m glad my girlfriend has a sense of humor.

The “C” word would get me killed if I ever used it, in public

  6. Like Maslow, I spend the majority of my workday not actually working and looking at strength websites such as this and pouring over obscure research articles related to lifting, nutrition, etc. I really should just quit and open my own damn gym.

Oh, and am I the only one who notices the irony of the 90’s Small/30’s “Great Depression” Weak dude modeling the t-shirt style on the ordering website?

Owning a gym is overrated. Don’t do it unless it’s a side asset.

    –Justin

Definitely not overrated. I don’t think Justin remembers all the fun we used to have at our old Crossfit.

  7. @Maslow,

    seems legit. obese? less test.

I generally spend the majority of my day watching olympic weightlifting videos or translating russian/polish weightlifting websites.

Translating yourself? Or with Google Chrome? You and Maslow should make up the R&D team.

  8. Justin, there’s a guy on the SS forum pirating your book, find the thread “IFS Review of Texas Method Part 1” or something like that.

Stef e-mailed me and let me know. Thanks for the intel, and thanks to the people that defended me.

    –Justin

  9. damn, that brah is pirating the shit out of your book, man. brent, get kim jong-il and your oriental posse to take care of this marose mother fucker.

Stankmoney, did you ever re-send that e-mail, brah?

    –Justin

  10. Is it the same guy who posted in Rip’s forum saying “So, I just read the e-book…”

Rip said “There is no e-book.”

    Lmao. *OOPS*

  11. I can see how I was supposed to deduce that it was an inside joke from the zero context given. God, women turn into such humorless bitches when you call them cunts! I enjoyed the blog, really and truly, and I think you’re doing a good thing here. But I’m out.

I’ll probably still read Brent’s log, though, because he’s funny.

If I followed Brent’s advice, I would have responded with “wish I cared”.

In any case, I made two points:
    1. Shawn isn’t a random commentor calling women cunts, he was just trying to get a rise from me (and got one out of you).
    2. Being hyper-sensitive on the internet is yawn.

  12. If anyone is interested, Ricky Bruch’s movie is up on Youtube.

There are no subtitles or dubbing – it is all in Sweedish. If anyone could direct me to a DVD of
    Själen är större än världen
that they know would have subtitles or dubbing I think we’d all be interested.

It’s in 8 parts. Here is part 1. The other parts should be easy to find.

  13. No, I will re-send it this evening. Justin@70sbig.com?

On a side note, I finally got a video of myself squating and figured out how to put it on the youtube:

    plz, critique.

Can’t see too much in this vid. I’m gonna need a 45 degree angle from the front or back.

  15. Sorry, I’m with Kari on this one.
Now, me response was more of a laconic “really douchebag?” with no intention of replying here, but still…

As a big fan of the C word, (I use it for both ladies and gents) I would just remind you to be judicious in its deployment lest you leave the kind of people you would like to attract all butt hurt for no good reason.

I’m not saying anybody should say cunt on the site, and I probably should have removed it anyway since he said it to get a rise out of me, but making my point is making a generalization on the website AND easily getting your feelings hurt are two illogical things. Words are just words, and they weren’t even directed at each of you.

    I still love you, Rachel.

    –Justin

  16. Karibot, I second Ellee’s request…
Reading your updates gets me fired up to go work on pullups and squat more, please stick around!
Jamie Kovac looks like a bit of a badass, love the yoke walk. Is it just me, or are her arms quite long?

  17. Also with Karibot. And I don’t think its hyper sensitive to point out that the environment here is not always conductive to your stated goal of encouraging more female participation/posting/submission.

It’s your blog so you can run it however you want and ignore the criticism. You’ll still get a certain amount of female participation from those with “a sense of humor” aka those with high douchebaggery tolerance limits. But you don’t get to then complain that there aren’t enough of them around. You can’t have it both ways.

Get fucked keysburg. If you’ve read the site and my replies to comments, you KNOW I always tone down any comments that could be considered derogatory towards women. Whenever I post about them, whether I know them or not, I am respectful. Instead of playing to the 98% of my readers and saying, “Look at this incredibly hot chick” I say, “look, women can train and not get bulky and have a very shapely physique”. My only regret is that my friend Shawn is a jackass (65% of the time), but I’m not going to apologize for all of you getting butt hurt over something that was originally meaningless anyway.

    –Justin

  18. How about everyone goes and reads AC’s blog post today and goes and thinks long and hard about it on the naughty step. You can come back downstairs when you understand.

This goes for half the people who posted yesterday as well.

  19. @rjh8541 – No way that’s a flat ass my man. Her legs are tree trunks. I don’t think you scrolled down far enough to watch the boxing vid. Pretty sure that’d get the 70s Big lady’s ass slap of approval.

  20. Pretty sure I didn’t say you should apologize. I didn’t mean to call out anything you wrote specifically Justin. I don’t have any issues with most of your posts. I’ve seen you tell people to tone it down. But I’ve also seen the same people more or less ignore you.

You actually seem to be taking this pretty personal. When I comment (and I am sure this goes for other ladies) on “the environment” I am talking more about the comments than the posts. I am sorry if this was unclear.

Since you have a stated goal of encouraging female participation, I am unclear why you are discouraging us from chiming in on comments we find offensive. You don’t have to police it all by yourself. A few ladies going “Hey, dude, that’s out of line.” when something is, in fact, out of line, will help discourage that behavior.

Likewise, I thought since you’d like more female participation, you’d also like to know why you aren’t getting it. I don’t actually care if you can, want to, or will do a single fucking thing about it, but it seemed like a good thing to mention.

Your last comment would make sense had issues like this continuously cropped up, but they haven’t. Your point is as moot as this topic.
    Let’s talk about dogs instead.

    –Justin

  21. keysburg and other women who visit the site, at what point does saying something is out of line translate into the action “I’m leaving this website”?

ehhhhhh can we drop this? They’ll either be back or not visit the site anymore.
