Out of Town
“Say it . . . SAY IT!”
Hint: Gary Oldman is in this scene
Justin is currently out of town. So here is a video of Dylan. He trains with me in Statesboro. He exhausted the linear progression so I gave him the go-ahead to max out on his Deadlifts

Strong lift Dylan. Well done.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:13 am
that was definitely 70s big lifting, however.. the video had more of an 80”s feel, very similar to the montage in Rocky 3 when Apollo and Rocky are frolicking through the ocean at the beach after training… lol, nice lift Dylan

Super Awesome! Deadlifts make me want to jump in the air too!

Kick ASS! You guys in Statesboro are the shit keep up the good work.

new favorite 70”s big meal…
I had some leftover brisket so I took it and cooked it in a skillet until it was crispy and then put it on top of 7 fried eggs with a pile of cheddar cheese on top. Definitely would be on top of my last meals list.

@jordan-
boner worthy meal

Nice pulls Dylan
On a side note I tried the chili that Jacob demonstrated a month ago for my superbowl party and it was awesome. Everyone was suprised when it said it had no beans, but I heard no complaints either.
February 8th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
Big pull.
February 8th, 2010 at 1:47 pm
I have to agree with easy_e regarding the 80”s feel. Especially with the freeze frame at the end while in mid air.
Nice lifts, BTW, Dylan. 560 raw is no joke.
February 8th, 2010 at 1:52 pm
Great lift Dylan!
and yes, the freeze frame at the end is pretty classic.

That””s a big deadlift. And he got that just from doing the 3×5 program laid out in Starting Strength?
He was strong Deadlifter before hand, but his strength increased exponentially with SS

Completed SP today but my left elbow felt a little tight. Went to do PC and couldn”t rack without pain in my elbow. I think I stressed it a little too much on the press. Anyone else have this happen?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:09 pm
Are you sure it felt tight from the press and not from the squats?
February 8th, 2010 at 3:21 pm
Jesus, that”s a nice lift.
Good job!
February 8th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
@Ryan
No, I”m not. I will test again on Wednesday and see if that is it.
February 8th, 2010 at 5:23 pm
ièm just going to lay this out -
if anyone is having back problems or knee problems, I HIGHLY recommend doing box squats. same protocol as regular squats. works great for me.
no need to have your shins past perpendicular, but donèt do a knee bend either.
February 8th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
The line is from The Dark Knight where Harvey is in the hospital room after being burned and makes Gordon says his nickname, Harvey Two-Face.
February 8th, 2010 at 5:55 pm
WHERE IS HE!!!
Nice lift, followed up with an even nicer embrace.

Great lifts! The two 90”s small guys in the background of the second lift are just staring at him like, “I hope he doesn”t come eat us for a snack after this.”
He may have actually consumed them, b/c they aren”t there for the third lift.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
Noice!
And that looks like a badass gym.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:26 pm

A.C — Fucking love Ghostland Observatory the most.
Dylan — good shit dude.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:44 pm
AC knows how to end a video. I once saw a porno where there was a freeze frame – saved by the bell – style ending.
Keep on keepin” on.
February 9th, 2010 at 6:03 am
Extremely good form from him even at 560 which appeared to be close a maximal weight for him. You”ve obviously been a great coach for him AC.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:11 am
A.C could you tell us what program Dylan was using so far?
Starting Strength
–A.C.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:53 am
Thanks for the speedy answer, A.C. Just figured I”d ask to be sure.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:31 pm
AC when are you doing another PR or 1 MR video of yourself?
February 9th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
Also haven””””t you already exhausted your own novice program? If so, what does your program look like now?
I had a set-back for a few weeks, but come next Friday I will post a PR video. Yes I have, I am on Texas Method

February 9th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
I”m guessing the quote is from The Fifth Element
February 9th, 2010 at 12:46 pm
Dammit just read through the other comments. I retract my previous statement.
February 9th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
The quote is definitely from Frank Dux, closer to 70sbig!
This site is great motivation. After seeing the porkchops I went a bought 2.5 pounds of pork chops and am marinating them now.
Anyone have good pork marinade recipes? Just using a simple apple cider, molasses and spice one for now.
February 9th, 2010 at 2:02 pm
@gottatri2 What I like on my pork chops is a honey mustard glaze done in the broiler. 2:1:1 Mustard:Honey:Oil Chops in the broiler for 8 minutes, glaze them for 2, flip, 8 minutes, glaze for 3… done. The fat gets all crsipy and delicious, glaze gets all caramelized. load it up and make a bunch.
February 9th, 2010 at 6:24 pm
Well can”t wait to see your PR video!!!!!
February 9th, 2010 at 6:29 pm
Next song “For whom the bell tolls” would be real nasty
February 10th, 2010 at 7:26 am
@ Chris Walls
Thanks I will try it this weekend. I understand most marinades require oil to tenderize, sweets for the carmelizing effect and spices for flavor, but the ratio is where the fun lies.
Thanks!
February 10th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
@gottatri2
It’s not so much a marinade as a glaze you mop on during the broiling. might work as a marinade and a mop. There is acid in the vinegar in the mustard so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as a marinade. heh
