How To Break In A New Belt
“Who is but the form of what, and what I am is a man in a mask.”
In case any of you have been trying to order 70’s Big shirts, I did a poor job of re-supplying them when inventory was short. The delay in getting them delivered is my fault and has nothing to do with The Aasgaard Company. I’m pretty new to this kind of thing, so I’m learning from my mistakes.
———-
Some of you have been asking how to break in a new, stiff belt. Rip and Mike teach you how to do so in the following video. AC does the editing on these. That means the Kenny Loggins thing was his idea.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant and vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsaving the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. [laughs] Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it”s my very good honor to meet you and you may call me “V”.

Man, you guys are giving Mike a hard time about the weight! I”m sure he”ll be there soon. 405#x8 at age 53 is no fucking bullshit either. I hope I”ll be pulling like that at that age.

Rip that is an impressive pull
I found this clip the other day and it is as funny as I have seen in a while. If you cannot laugh at crossfit with this video than you take yourself way too seriously.

Here is a great video from the 1972 Olympics. Seems like a behind the scenes shoot of the Oly lifters. Definitely 70”s Big material.

I recently sublixated my shoulder (i think thats how u spell it.) Originally i dislocated it in high school football. And the other day it popped out a little during a snatch. And on Christmas when i unracked the bar it slipped again. Any suggestions on helping fix this problem. Should i do a shit ton more presses and cut out bench? thanks guys.
December 30th, 2009 at 7:01 pm
Joesmash: You will want to avoid the provactive positions, full range bench is certainly one of them. You can do bench with a 3-4 inch towel on your chest so you do not go through full range of motion. Press should be good for you, but I would avoid the fast overhead motions for the time being such as snatch and jerks. If it becomes a consistent subluxation then you should probably get it checked by an orthopedist as the ligaments and connective tissue are just getting stretched out and the muscles cannot hold the joint together if they are too stretched out.
